Patrick is a filmmaker who is interested in the varying intersections between identity, technology and place.
He completed a PhD in Creative Media at RMIT University in Melbourne in 2013. The practice-led project saw him going ‘back in time’ and offline to explore media technology of the past. The key creative output of the project was a feature-length documentary film entitled ‘Detour Off The Superhighway’.
He has worked in film and television production for Network Ten, Jonathan M Schiff Productions, and LCR Filmsound. He worked in development and pre-production on 'Are We Not Men? The Devo Documentary'. He also works as a freelance videographer, editor, writer and project manager.
Patrick's media practice has screened at international festivals, such as the Queensland New Filmmakers Awards, Canada International Film Festival, Tropical Alternative Film Festival, Sightlines: Filmmaking in the Academy, and the International iPod Film Festival. More recently, Patrick mobile video works have been screened at Mobile Innovation Network Australasia (MINA) each year since 2013. His film work has received honours including the Award of Excellence at the Canada International Film Festival and First Prize at the MSU Film Festival in the United States.
Since 2018, he has been working on a documentary project about Honcho Disko, an inclusive queer performance night. In 2022, the project is being presented at Midsumma Festival as Honcho Disko: The Documentary: The Lecture: The Musical.
